Rodent Humanoids For the Series?

Rodents are a group of different mammal species that exist in most continents. Most of them are viewed as pests and vermin that people prefer to be rid of. Such rodents include rats, mice, chipmunks, rabbits, hares and other small animals people find unwanted. Among such unwanted pests one will find other mammals that can cause trouble. Going deeper in the darkest, and uncharted places of the world are humanoid versions of these rodents. Humanoids that appear like rats, mice, and shrews exist in those places of the world. Their origins are somewhat mysterious even though they show signs of coming from another universe. Taking advantage of their mysterious existence these rodent humanoids avoid contact with other races. In the remote places of the planet they dwell these rodents will congregate, and breed to build new colonies. Entire colonies can be found in jungles, mountains, swamps, and underneath the earth.
Tales and rumors passed down from centuries past say those rodent people are responsible for the outbreaks of many plagues. Over two thousand years ago all the races of the world. As these plagues and epidemics spread, most peoples such as elves, dwarves, humans, and other inhabitants migrated. In masses the migrated to the safest places that remained unaffected. Once the plagues ended they all began to suspect and even trace some of the diseases to the rodent races. Many of these rodents hid while others suffered terrible massacres, and eliminations. Those who survived ended up in the remote places in the unknown and uncharted corners. For thousands of years they remained hidden until the invasions.
Forced out of hiding, these rodents were drafted into the armies of the two invaders. While the invaders pressed their conquest, they used the rodent humanoids as spies, and cannon fodder due to their numbers and ability to sneak around. None of the rodents sent to the front survived against modern weapons. The ones who became spies proved useful to both invaders. Others had proven their worth in other occupations.
This is only brainstorming of ideas.
