Orders are Orders

Creating a distraction would still sound the alarm. Any distraction would be met with the whole garrison shooting the distraction then lead to a man hunt. The Lamia(snake people) duo found themselves inside a fort they infiltrated by hiding in barrels. An oblivious merchant brought them in thinking he was transporting two dead snakes. Now they were out of the barrels waiting in the shadow of a barracks and the wall. It seemed like a tight fit considering there were only three feet between the wall and the building. Each Lamia was armed with a crossbow, bolts, and their own bodies for weapons. Two guards were already taken out having the life squeezed out of them. One of the Lamia was a female who would have brought a shield for this. However her boss was strict about shields on covert operations. Her partner ridiculed her as he waited patiently for another patrol to come snooping towards their location.

She watched him pose letting his tail stretch out towards her. As she waited for night to drag on before moving something caught her attention. A noise came from the rooftop of the building next to her. She aimed her crossbow upward. Coiling up she looked over the roof thinking of her mission. On the roof was a figure with catlike agility, and the distinct features of a small woman. Inside the Lamia's head she was wondering if this was another spy when she heard her partner kill another guard. That made four victims tonight since the 1st victim was killed by her hands. The spies could still be seen in her head. A small goblin who tried to hide inside her hiding place. It was not the ugliest goblin however it would need some cleaning tips if it wanted a date soon. Unfortunately for that goblin spy they had orders to either kill, dispatch, ensnare in place, knock out, cripple as many guards as possible before dawn. Then they were to seize a structure then hold out until dawn. Her plan was to capture a member of the garrison and hold them captive to keep the rest from burning or storming their hold out. Yet it seemed her partner in crime had different ideas and proceeded to kill the guards on the tower.

Realizing it was futile to get him to stop she went after this other spy. This Lamia climbed onto the roof and came up behind this spy who was taking photographs without the flash. Her heart sank seeing how small the spy was. A small being like this made her heart melt sometimes when she did not know what it really looked like. She looked around to see if there was anyone else on the roof tops. The coast was clear as the rest of the patrols marched to their own barracks unaware of their presence. Using her tail she knocked the spy down pulling one leg. This spy went down with a small thud. Whoever this spy was she squeaked on impact with the roof. Not wanting to draw attention her arms covered the spy then muffled her mouth. The Lamia felt the heart beats of the spy as it pounded against their chest. She scared the wits out of the spy who did not move a muscle. Their mission was not to be caught. She looked at the small figure before getting down with a captive in her arms. Finding her partner's victims she took the belts and tied the small spy up and gagged her with a cloth. There was no need to check on this spy until morning.

Knowing her orders the Lamia sprung into action firing bolts into a crowd of guards gathered at a fire. She looked up at where the alarm was and saw her partner disable that. He slithered down to take on a group of guards. The sound of his attack drew the attention of many guards. Using the buildings as hiding places she picked off the guards with her bolts encircling them. She did not stop until she ran out of bolts. At that moment she began to kill off or ensnare those still asleep.
