He Has To Admit It

At the table he sat at his so called family cornered him. For years they traveled together each one a black sheep or the golden apple of their families. A group of nine friends became more of a family than just a circle of friends. Coming from a wealthy family had its benefits for travelling abroad. It was the year 1511 in what is now the capitol of the Ottoman Empire. Just over a half century ago it was once Constantinople, the capitol of the Byzantine Empire. In their heads they knew it was really the Roman Empire under a new name. However that was not the case or the issue here. Around this time the current ruling Sultan of the Ottoman Empire Bayezid II was locked in a civil war for his thrown. None of them really cared about the events going on here. For they were not from this world. All nine of them wore clothing that fit the cultures of Europe and that of the Ottoman Empire. To the locals it seemed strange for them to be together. Some of them tried to pass of as Christian while others tried to pass off as Turks.

To their luck the authorities did not seem to care. However they glared at the culprit behind their demise and life style choices. As a whole they came from another world that was far more advanced than this one who was just now exiting the Medieval Era. What they wanted from their so called Imam friend was why they are here in the first place when they could be on another world. Five years ago he received the message to head over to a particular planet that was some what medieval in culture. Out of fury the women of their group stood up to beat him into the ground. None of them did since it would only draw attention to them. A few of them had already been questioned at lest once over their origins. Using their charm and bribery they convinced the guards they were Greeks travelling the islands.

A lone guardian angel wearing combat armor rolled his eyes as he watched the women shriek at him in another tongue that sounded Turkish and Greek meshed together. In his mind he believed the guards would literally catch on. Standing on the rooftop invisible watching these nine aliens dressed in medieval clothing argue while a civil war over the throne of an empire was going on. Yet he decided to partake in that civil war choosing both sides as a mercenary. It was for money, adventure, the thirst for battle and just a chance to ride an actual camel to battle. At the battle over Asia Minor in 1509 he literally did not care about which side he was on. He slew dozens of Turks and Safavids and marched on Constantinople with the claimant Ahmed. In this current year he decided to put down a revolt in Thrace disguised as a Turk. That is when he discovered she was here on this world. For years he kept thinking of her hoping to run into her. Every day he saw nothing happen and believed it would never happen. There was nothing more than he could ask for was an exodus from this suffering. However on this rooftop he watched her grab the guilty one by the collar and shake him. At the top of her lungs she screamed at this tall man who looked like he had aged and hardly exercised. He was not fat just disgustingly average. All he has to admit was that he lied and that he lost all their stuff somewhere. For the guardian all he had to admit was that he still wanted her after all these years. He just needed to be more patient.
