Intervention Failure 1147

"You know why you are here." Supreme Executive of Court Marshals said.

"Yes your honor, I understand why I am here today for this hearing." a female Dauksan with long fox like ears, and busy orange tail.

"Do you understand this is Intervention # 1147, a failure like Intervention 1137?" the large Blue Oni Supreme Executive questioned her.

"Yes I do as Vice Field Marshall, I Ingredia Kantix Evenwires understand this failure is mine alone. None of the men and women-" she was cut off by Supreme Executive Garbadd Zeevud.

"More than nine hundred thousand men and women of this organization gave their lives on that planet! Were you not tasked with pushing the invading Nazdar back while building a foothold?" He kept the questions coming.

"Yes your honor I was, but that was only half the force I was supposed to command! With all do respect to the courts and the military forces of the Inner Galactic Alliance there should have been half a million under my command." she insisted to the members of the courts at her hearing.

"Let's see it was Chief Marshall Niervad not Chief Marshall Lancaster who gave you those forces. Am I correct on that?" He looked at her over his spectacles that hung from his nose.

"Yes however the precise number was two hundred thirty two thousand one hundred sixty two infantry launching an invasion of an area known as Kashmanol." Supreme Executive Zeevud reminded her.

"Yes your honor, 101, 164 attacked Kashmanol from the north, and 130, 998 launched the other phase of my invasion from the southern coasts of Kashmanol. My forces managed to overrun the enemy who stationed 161, 900 troops as an occupation force with collaborators. Casualties showed 1,045,328 killed, forcing the rest to flee, retreat and break from rest of the occupation forces. Seven islands  were taken in the process. That is when we found out 101, 823 Orcs of Kashmanol were taken prisoner and locked away while the rest turned into slave labor." She was about to continue, but the figure next to Zeevud waved a hand for her to be silent.

"For a span of a full year, 365 days your forces invaded Kashmanol, defeated the enemy occupation forces, destroyed their collaborators, forced them to retreat, and break away. Then your troops are attacked every where during that full year they were there. Yet you seemed to claim a victory?" The figure next to Zeevud spoke for him as he went through papers, and rubbed his head.

"Many of them managed to survive, at least a corps of them survived, held their ground, and made it through!" Evenwires stated hoping that would make a good defense for her failure. She did not stay with the main forces on the mainland, but resided on an island. Ingredia did not mention the 88 clones who survived and reached her quarters, which explained why she even survived this.

"According to some of the wounded officers they begged you to call for reinforcements after 5,525,747 strange aliens, allied with the enemy, emerged from the underground once Kashmanol was yours. In a territory known as Vaony 10, 325 screw ups among your invasion force drop their weapons allowing themselves to be captured. That alone left all your forces vulnerable and exposed." Zeevud stood up and spoke in a voice of authority that made her feel like a child in trouble.

Kantix kept thinking of those 88 clones who managed to survive and protect her. Her thoughts also went to the 34 troopers who happened to be native born to this planet called Calorn. Each one was abducted and then adopted into a new family entering a new life. Once the 365 days were up those natives deserted the rest. Her gaze went to Supreme Executive Zeevud then at Chief Judge Aigotha Brons a female Biit-Omelano with the pale orange skin, Cyan hair in Sleek Pixie style. Then some thought hit her. Two mountain kingdoms along the borders of the Kashmanol, and the land locked sea-lake bordering the local states of Derol, Lornav, Dormany, and the large area of Ehkbullar. Both kingdoms allowed her troops to reside there before the invasion. Surely some native's aid would direct the hearing in her favor.

"Your honors the two mountain kingdoms who allowed my troops housing are worth our time. They have become valuable allies." Ingredia pointed out in the hopes they would see this as a positive feat for their cause. Gaining an alliance with any locals gave a commanding officer or soldier a bonus that could erase charges.

"Both kingdoms are part of the super continent known as Nevora. We do recognize them as allies, however their contribution to this intervention are their's not yours, Vice Field Marshall. Perhaps Estelhun should have been handed this Intervention mission after his own forces engaged mounted enemy cavalry there." Brons revealed to the Vice Field Marshall like a warning. "He would have not lost so much as ten thousand in the first hours like you did. We still applaud your strategies and tactics that overwhelmed the large garrisons, which only resulted in 10, 004 of our own killed in action. Those were shot by the Nazdar and their Grevaskii."

"He led well over thirty thousand to their deaths!-" she tried to profess, but was cut off by Zeevud.

"That Dragon Prince Warlord would have never allowed more than fifty thousand of his troops die like you did. If they did die it would be to the death and holding their ground! Whereas you spent a full year's worth there luxuriously lounging about on that island!" Zeevud roared the assertion at her.

"Aside from 10, 004 KIA on the first few days of the invasion according to our reports, which are not your fault, 3, 282 of our soldiers are eaten right there on the battlefield during this Intervention 1147. What you have to say to their people? Eighteen humanoid races made up that Intervention Corps you commanded." Zeevud proceeded with his part of the hearing.

"They all have my deepest condolences, family, clans, nations, and peoples of their worlds." She was about to cry, but fought the tears back. How was she supposed to know about those monsters? Ingredia was certain she had all the information from the reconnaissance squadrons sent out ahead of the invasion. Yet the Intervention still went south and Kashmanol fell the enemy.

"To add to the immediate list of casualties during the first days of the invasions." Zeevud noted while going through the papers.

You mean add more salt to the wounds already there? She screamed inside her head while the Executive went through the paper work before him. Ingredia recalled the horrors her forces faced in Kashmanol. Just watching them on a screen made her shudder. Even recalling the nightmares made her feel petrified inside. Her heart beats went up like someone had just scared her.

"In every intervention there are the usual KIA, and wounded casualties plus the MIA(missing in action). What is not common are the number of rapes that occurred among our own or the enemy. As for our wounded twenty-two thousand eight hundred seventy six men and women are wounded. Each one had to be evacuated off world asap. Total number of women raped in combat throughout the Intervention totaled 2,009 who were forced to leave the combat zones and this world due to trauma and physical harm. This also leads to the ones who suffered what is called "Shell Shock" and Combat Traumatic Disorder" showing a number of 3,290 soldiers we had to let go and evacuate." Zeevud continued on with the hearing.

"That... that was the most horrifying thing I have heard of and witnessed myself. One of my own staff officers were forced on a table at this inn! For those who suffered the disorders I pray for their.... recovery!" Ingredia dropped to her knees letting the tears come down and sobbed.

"That caused a brigade's worth of women to break away to form their own faction after their demands for transfers your staff denied! Did you deny those transfers?" Zeevud pressed on with the questions and the numbers that laid on her hands.

"STOP YOUR HONOR LET ME GRIEF!" she screamed causing two Guardians acting as security to grab her by the arms to apprehend her for the outburst.

"We will allow to grieve once this hearing is over! Am I understood?" Zeevud pointed a thick meaty finger at her that had a long nail that protruded out.

"How many of those female soldiers left us? A force of 2,195 female soldiers broke away to form their own faction due to the rapes and the denied transfers that may not be on your hands. Grand Admiral Finstar who took charge of the transfers if it was not the Vice-Admiral?" Zeevud asked a decorated seasoned Hakutakuun holding the rank of Grand Admiral.

"I believe it was under the jurisdiction of Commandant of Air Avalon Badoinson an Uidhil who only respects Naval and Airforce troops." the Hakutakuun with his four horns and reddish beard answered the Executive.

"We will hear from him soon enough in this court room. Now Vice Field Marshall Evenwires you booted and punished soldiers for insubordination. Discipline is key to victory and holding the line. For that you will keep your rank as you are strict with the ways of military procedures. However due to the main failure your fate is determined based on the weight against you. We have a record and list of 1, 209 soldiers of your Intervention Corps whom you booted out for insubordination and failure to follow direct orders. I am certain that will direct the rest of the interventions to a better success through example in the future. Lamia, Oni, Biits, Hellhound race, Omelano, Demonicoids, Seraphim Protectors, Hakutakuuns, Holstaurus homesteads, and all Vurids would like to see their loved ones avenged and honored. Each of those races including those of Elves, Dwarves, Dauksans your own people, Cruks, Uidlhli, other humans, and the cycloptic race do appreciate you for disciplining those insubordinate members. Yet all eighteen races, members of this Inner Galactic Coalition demand an explanation for the rest of the casualties and losses. Particularly those who went missing in action. No more than 1,176 members of Intervention 1147 became lost, and presumed missing or dead were recently found on scanners all over Kashmanol, Vaony, in places called Kyria, Lornav, and parts of Nevora. Also 1,061 froze to death in this Nevoran region. How your scanners did not pick them up is beyond me and your superiors." Zeevud raised his voice with anger.

"They will not be forgotten their memories will live on." Evenwires said showing as much sympathy as possible wiping the tears away. She regrouped and gathered herself recalling the army of strange alien invaders who joined the Nazdar and Grevaskii.

"Your honors the enemy had a force of 852, 404 strange invaders stationed in Kashmanol. My Intervention forces crushed them forcing 379, 167 of them to retreat." Evenwires recalled in a mournful tone.

"A victory no one will forget however it is unfortunate your forces did not get all of them. Did those forces retreat to Vaony?" Zeevud did agree with her on that, but added a question after that.

"I do not know your honor it was months after we landed those force disappeared when defeated. That is when the chaotic surprise began all over Kashmanol. Soldiers, Troopers, and Infantry were hung to death, killed with arrows, slaughtered, killed with claws, thrown over a bridge, burned alive, poisoned, lost their marbles, and showed cowardice in the face of the enemy!" Evenwires went on with the ways her forces died and lost it. "1, 608 men and women died from disease that were foreign to us! Don't blame me for the deaths of the diseased, my medics had no cure for that!"

"Those who died of disease will not be blamed on you nor will the deaths of the 7, 621 discovered dead from an accident, or lightning. As for the ones who died from traps we need your own surviving scouts to explain that!" Zeevud almost shouted at everyone in the room.

"Among those who died during the chaotic surprise we have here 5,138 found hung to death, 2, 746 killed with arrows? Did the locals, never mind, 15, 659 found stabbed, cut to death and bludgeoned all across Kashmanol. As for the ones killed with claws 2, 329 dead from attacks by either beasts or monsters, we cannot decipher without autopsies. As for the unfortunate souls who died via bridges, and burned alive, 2, 233 burned by the enemy, and 742 were thrown over bridges by these strange aliens. Either those souls were caught off guard, captured or your pride in the victory gave way to letting your guard down!" Zeevud looked at her with fire in his eyes.

"When these strange aliens numbering five million or more came out were you not informed enough by the locals?" Zeevud demanded from Evenwires.

"The, the local Orcs, Goblins, a-and hybrids did not say anything to my soldiers. I believed the enemy did not have any more forces in the area. By the time we discovered more forces present under ground it was too late." Evenwires admitted bowing her head low in shame, regret, and guilt.

"That prideful attitude you had led to the poisoning of 20,110 I.G.C.A. members, the finest we had. All the tragic deaths within the chaotic surprise by the enemy caused 1, 916 of your own to lose their marbles who proceeded to massacre Orclings. Orclings, just Orc children. Did you deal with those murderers among your army who held a racial grudge against Orcs?" Zeevud went on, demanding an answer.

"We had them taken in or killed on the spot." She said crying for those Orcling children whose screams and cries she can still hear when her troops opened fire on them and started gutting them. More tears streamed down her cheeks for those children who would never live to become a great Warrior like their forefathers or become members of society their Clans would be proud of.

"For those who showed cowardice you executed 4, 432 infantry whom you pulled from another Intervention force located on a world full of the living dead! Those soldiers should have been treated before this Intervention!" Zeevud growled at her showing a mix of anger, agony, and grief.

"My own nephew was one of those you executed. Moving on." Zeevud put that in as something personal. That bit of information hit her very hard.

"During the 365 days you were there two thousand of your troops broke away to become outlaws. I pray those 1,501 who became pirates, and 500 bandits, and renegades gave those five million enemies a good chase all over that region while engaging in guerrilla warfare. Fortunately for you a spy of ours discovered those men and women did not die without a fight. Did you shout the orders for your own forces to "Take them with you" ?" Zeevud looked at her with a concerned look then glanced at the list he held in his hand.

"Yes it was to encourage them and to keep them from losing hope. I contacted Niervad and Lancaster, and Grand Admiral Finstar to send reinforcements or carpet bomb the whole region." Evenwire explained to the Executive.

"About forty thousand did hold their ground, 25, 417 of your soldiers held their ground along the southern coast, 12, 435 left this planet after fighting to get out. We have here a memoir turned report from Sergeant Eskill Gargos the Lamia who recalls your orders to hold ground or pull back." Zeevud raised up the words so she could see them.

"Yes I did not hesitate to give out those orders out of sheer desperation, and panic. I was lost after 60,283 of my troops were captured or forced to surrender when they go overwhelmed. Their positions were being overrun I had to command those orders." Evenwires claimed the orders as her own.

"Many of those soldiers made it out alive plus joined this Iznar Pact, which 10,065 of your other soldiers stationed on one of the larger islands to the south forged. It seems more than 166, 781 of our guns with ammunition were given to the Drasdal States Resistance Movements."

"A gift to the Drasdals if they managed to free captured I.G.C. soldiers." Evenwire proclaimed before the Executive.

"What was this world called again?" Zeevud asked around the room.

"Calorn your Honor, the natives call it Calorn. While I was on the seventh island we seized I saw a team of four strange invaders not affiliated with the invaders nor us engage the invasion force."

"Describe them, Vice Field Marshall, I am only granting your self to keep this rank as a reminder of this failure. Now proceed." Zeevud folded his hands in a listening motion letting Evenwire have the floor. "However, before I let you out of this court room you will remain here at home for two years of no military action. Once those two years are up then you are allowed to return to serve the galaxy on this Calorn recruiting and gathering mercenary armies, volunteers, renegades, fighters, and smugglers to forge your new army under the command of a local government there." Zeevud put in.

"These four invaders were heavily armored with technology no different than our own, but weapons strong enough to punch through our armor......."
