Pieces of her own armor fell off as she slithered through the rubble in the war torn sector. Her own scaly skin was starting to get torn from the constant movement. Not good for a Lamia-Snake. On some other planet Lamia was also a female upper body with legs of a lion. Another letter in their name would correct that mistake in identity. Wielding her weapon she looked around the rubble, and ruin that was once Golden Haven District of Galahan City, Tianyan. According to the reports this city was home to reptilian humanoids who served a group of larger beings who shifted their sizes. Messeilla had zero time to think about that. For this entire moon was overrun and destroyed by the Hordes of Chaos whose various mutations and spawn wanted to lay waste to the worlds they took. Once it has been their's for ten years then reconstruction and reforming begins in their own image.
A force of 6,530 Lamia Soldiers, 8,400 Cycloptic Humanoids, 4,200 Free Oni, and 9,600 Omelano (beige pink skins) infantry landed in a hornet's nest. The Locals fought off a third wave of monsters and spawn by the time they arrived. When their force came down on a base the fourth attack was about to begin. Due to the ferocity of the third battle the defenders had to spread out into smaller armies. All over the planet entire battalions and divisions of Tattooed Humans, Elves, Lizard people, Goblins, Hybrids, Draconic Humanoids, Troglodytes, and Emperials(winged humanoids). By the time her Intervention Forces reached a fourth group of resistance their commanders had them split up. It put a bad taste in Messaila' mouth and a bad feeling in the pit of her Lamian stomach. She leaned against a wall curling her tail. Her team were still waiting for her to signal it was clear to race over to her current position. Getting ready to relax was the last thing Lamian Red-Knife Leader Major Messaila should do. She still had fifty members of Red Knife Company. It started out as 250 then went down to just fifty of them plus her, the Leader. Out of the 28, 730 Intervention forces who came to Dotov IV's moon Tianyan a brigade's worth of them remained operating on the surface. A total casualty count included 15,244 killed in action, and 7,063 wounded leaving 6,423. Statistics on how many the defenders had were lost. As for the invaders' numbers must have been at least 757,610,336 to 850,000,000. Extra forces came in behind the first wave bringing in one billion on to this Dragon Ruled Moon. Under the reign of their Dragon Masters 760,672,081 Dotovians fought their hearts out to protect their home.
Messaila observed the results of the invasions and wondered what the Dragon Masters would do once this was over. They had the pleasure of meeting the twenty-seven Luungs, Yongs, Imoogi's, Stone Dragons, and Metallic Dragons who acted as the Dragon Oligarchy of the Moon Dotov IV. Seeing Dotov IV in ruin made her wonder where all the Dragon Masters hid. Many of them were sure to be underground or hiding in caves, and larger ruins. Other than the Oligarchical members other Dragons resided on the Moon. Frost Dragons, Civilized Knuckers of the Rivers, Ampitheres who took charge of the temples, Guardian Wyverns, Firebird Dragons, Earth Dragons, Sea Dragons, Blue Dragons, Red Dragons of War, Green Dragons, and the dreaded Black Dragons who often went rogue on the Dragon Oligarchy. Those Dragons concerned her the most given how powerful they are. This moon had at most 29,660 -32,000 Dragons total. Every five to six years a female Dragon breeds with a male Dragon. That results in her laying eggs, which were to be taken care of by the Dragon's servants, slaves, and followers. Her actual mission was to collect the eggs of the most important Dragons. She had a long conversation with a Copper Dragon then another with the highest of Intelligent Dragons the Mighty Luung Julong who asked her to find at most 16 Dragon eggs or all the eggs that got left behind for some reason. Messailla blushed thinking of the Luung making love to her as he shrank down to her size.
All fifty members of her unit reached her and hunkered down inside the building she hose. It had enough room, which was nice for a change. Any building big enough to hold fifty or more was a welcoming sight for them. Other buildings made the space feel cramp and they had to occupy another building. Her Captain (second in command) and their Lieutenant approached her. She had just been promoted to Major last week after the death of their Oni Commanding Officer. Some of their own troops spotted hostiles north west and to the east of their positions. Those were the only hostile units they spotted in their area. Messaila did not like this one bit. More hostiles meant more fighting, and more fighting meant enemy reinforcements. She ordered one of them to check the area for any I.G.A. units in the area. Attacking an enemy position with zero knowledge of their strength was foolishly suicidal. For years she witnessed assaults on enemy positions that resulted in massacres and the loss of entire units. Red Knife Company started out with a full unit of three hundred sixty seven. After months of fighting here just 12 Lamia, including herself, 10 Oni soldiers, 3 cycloptic humanoids, and 25 Omelano's made up the remaining company of Red Knife.
Involved in twenty Interventions Major Messailla fought many battles, presumed dead twice, and wounded dozens of times. Proving herself as a leader was a breeze for her, but it was never an easy task considering the history behind each race and world. Oni fought various, races, the Omelano were persecuted at times then wrought about some genocides centuries ago. As for the Lamia their race were feared, hunted down from time to time, and banned from some planets. In her head he surmised how all factions that made up the I.G.A. were at war with one another at some point. As heart wrenching, and heartbreaking as those facts were it happened. There was no going back in time to stop the fighting. As depressing as that was for her own people to experience all that she had to put that in the past. She looked up to see her Captain, an Oni called Vazar informed her of three Intervention units not too far from their position. Wherever there were intervention forces there were also resistance and the Mutant Organization Forces not too far away. He got in contact with an Omelano Captain of Orange Blade Company. Their own Major, an Oni was badly wounded, leaving
116 Intervention troops without an able Major. Another Intervention Company code named Blue Bardiche had fought over some temples. They managed to survive with 157 remaining in their unit. Among them was a Lizard Fighter who sustained hits all over yet still breathed. As for the third one they took over a palace after enduring constant harassment with 93 left. Green Mace was their company name full of Oni.
Major Messeila divided her troops in half, twenty five stayed put, twenty five went on the offensive. She managed to encourage the Omelano to attack an enemy force closest to them. Captain Paigus took charge of his company offering to send a platoon to help her. One of the working scanners in the region found at least 7 units completely or mostly depleted. As she listened to the statistics in the size of each unit she recalled how this mutant force was organized. Each race or species had their own units. There were no mixed units. Depending on the race each unit had either a battalion, brigade, division or corps worth of troops and warriors. In this mutant invasion she recalled thirty different factions, races, and mutant types made up this invasion force. Fortunate for them most the larger units were elsewhere on the moon, scattered, separated from each other, because of the heavy fighting. Seven enemy units hunkered down in the same areas. Right as she was about to get the size of each unit a pair of Sharkmos, shark humanoids came up to their hiding spot. Clad in their uniforms the pair looked more like killer whales on legs with sharper teeth. The name must have been comical to those who first heard the name. Any raw recruit or rookie would learn quickly how fierce they really are. Neither humanoid noticed the fifty one Interventions forces because of the dark shadow of the cover that was once a second or first floor of a building.
Messeilla grabbed one of them by the leg with her tail and pulled it down. She crippled the shark humanoid with a flick of her tail smashing it against the rubble as hard she could. Three knives hit the second one before it even knew what happened. The Lamia Major pulled the injured humanoid to her so she could beat it to death with a large piece of rubble. Now there were only six units left to deal with. Without thinking she sent the twenty five members of her company to attack the target. Their intended target, which they shared with Orange Blade Company was a unit of 165 Vilespawn. She did not get to witness her unit move on the enemy through a hole in the wall like she planned. Another hostile unit of 34 Foulspawns, backed by a unit of wretched followers of the spawn. Twenty five members of Red Knife Company opened fire on the attacking enemy. No casualties were suffered in this engagement. At the edge of their cover lay the units of Foulspawn and their wretched looking followers. Messailla could hear the other engagement behind her. It did not last more than a few minutes as the shooting died down. Taking a chance to secure the next position they just cleared Messailla ordered her unit out. In a quickened pace she had her unit raced through the ruins to their comrades' and Orange Blade's position. Just a few were taken out compared to the entire unit of 165 Vilespawn how appeared more like mutated Goblinoid Gargoyles with no ears. Reuniting the rest of her company with the twenty two others Messeilla combined forces with Orange Blade Company. The position they had cleared appeared to be a crater from artillery connected to others formed by bombs, and a destroyed sewer line. A trench lead inside a structure that appeared abandoned.
Whatever building this was before the invasion it appeared large enough to hold a battalion. The Lamia looked around seeing the ruins around them gave some cover to whatever else was out there. Out of this structure exited a unit of 62 Pendairns, another unit of mutants that looked more like blue flat faced bat with huge ears. Both forces caught each other off guard. Fortunately none of the Pendairns had their weapons, nasty Gilded Hand Zappers that had ten plasma rounds. Making quick work of taking them out the two Companies rushed inside to discover 500 crew members of a crashed hip held captive and tied up along the walls. They searched the structure after freeing the prisoners. Messailla moved through the halls and found a room holding what looked like Dragon eggs. Knowing her mission Messailla gathered up the eggs counting nineteen of them. She carefully placed each one in a duffel bag stuffed with blankets and towels.
