When the manuscript was read aloud and finished the gathered crowds cheered with joy. An atmosphere of overwhelming happiness, excitement, and confidence. Bells rang in every church as the news spread across the city. It would not be long before the rest of the colonies celebrated this day. People jumped with joy, and glee. Others danced in harmony. Many men fired their firearms in the air regardless of wasted gunpowder. Flags and handkerchiefs were waved all over the streets. A sense of freedom rose up in the crowd as they declared their actions of breaking the chains of their tyrant across the sea. The festivities continued into the night as fireworks shot into the night sky. Hundreds if not thousands of man and women filled the taverns, and streets drinking the fine brews away. It was on this day the colonies declared themselves an independent nation.
