Vagi’s
Mission
The
Lamia carried the petrified Lieutenant Secretary Naphene Tranyer “Blue Rose”
Vagi to her quarters. She laid her down on the bed. Seleris the Bodyguard and
hired constable of the ship flicked Vagi in the back. She flicked the pressure
points along the spine. Her hands did this on five parts of Vagi’s back spine.
Somehow that revived the Lieutenant Secretary or at least snapped her out of this
petrified state. Seleris cursed that pirate captain under her breath. Vagi
blinked a few times showing signs of life. She stretched out a hand that
touched Seleris. The Lieutenant was probably checking her reality and
surroundings. As a Lamia, Seleris could sense she was just making sure she was
there. Vagi’s hands fondled and groped the Lamia all over. When the elf reached
her face, the Lamia grew angry.
“Okay Vagi that is enough!” Seleris shouted at the
Lieutenant Secretary.
In the Vestrisian Navy were the usual ranks in any navy.
A Captain or Admiral had a second in command and a Secretary on board a ship of
the navy. On board Kezef’s flagship the Hervorne Vagi’s position was about to
be refilled by a new Lieutenant Secretary. It was up to Seleris now to make
sure Vagi was ready for a new ship. This elf was excellent at her job, which
explained why she kept the position this long. One of Kezef’s ships needed a
new Lieutenant Secretary. Blue Rose Vagi was chosen to fill that role for
Captain Weatherby of Destroyer 1144 aka. Basilisk. After a few more seconds she
finally quit touching the aggravated Lamia. The Lieutenant Secretary sat up in
her bed. Vagi began stretching each limb, one at a time. Vagi took her time
getting ready. Bodyguard Seleris took a seat on the desk chair. Her tail
stretched over the hallway. Doing this made the crew members look out for
obstacles on the floor. This always agitated the crew who only bit their lips.
Each one of them knew she would smack them if they cursed her. Only the
Captain, the Admiral and the other Lieutenant had her respect. Seleris turned
her attention from the hallway to the desk.
On Vagi’s desk lay the usual items found on a desk,
including a photo. In the photo stood Naphene Vagi and a male. She wore her
uniform and the male wore an aviator’s outfit. At the bottom of the frame read
their names. Naphene Vagi locked arms with Airman, Explorer, and Driver Garyden
Usurper. He appeared to be Estati (half-elf, half Forsythan) with a dark purple
hand birthmark across his face. That alone made him stand out. However, to some
it was a negative for Elf communities and society. Legends from elf history
texts tell of a human necromancer with help from renegade Forsythans who plundered
tombs. Not just any tombs, elf tombs, and elf graves. He took the corpses for
his necromantic experiments. In the legends he used a hand symbol just like the
birthmark. Vagi poked her in the side lightly.
“What does the Admiral need me to do? I should know this,
but it slipped my mind.” She asked her, revealing the tasks did not reach her
ears yet.
“Finish packing and go through the papers and lists he
left for you.” Seleris informed Vagi. The elf knew how to organize, talk to
people, take commands, keep track, recruit, orchestrate meetings etc. Seleris
got up and left the elf to her duties.
“Okay bye, see you sometime soon!” she said cheerily.
Naphene sat down at her desk and began emptying drawers. She stacked everything
in a nice pile. All she needed was a box or two. She turned to the bed and
dressers. Grabbing the large duffle bag, she packed up her clothes. Underneath
all those clothes lay the navy backpack. Vagi filled it with the desk items.
All she had left to pack up was the photo and waterproof duster-trench coat.
Naphene picked up the framed photo and took out the gray and white photograph.
As though she was alone in her own apartment Vagi kissed the photograph.
“I miss you so much my Bubby!” Vagi said aloud starting
to tear up. While she served the VUVR Garyden flew into Nevora for adventuring.
He joined an expedition team of seventeen other explorers who flew over the
vast mountains dividing Vestrisia from Nevora. Knowing him he was already home.
Someone rapped on the metal door. Vagi shoved the
photograph in her left breast pocket. She wiped away her tears and opened the
door. Seleris closed the door when she left Vagi’s quarters. At the door stood
Seaman Havenward, and Bodyguard Seleris. They came to take her over to the next
ship, the Basilisk. Behind them were two others Crewman Bloodtry and Ensign
Hydroor who had the suitcase of her replacement.
“Are you ready Lieutenant ma’am?” Seaman Havenward asked
her.
“Yes, I am ready for my next ship assignment.” She
replied exiting the quarters and office. Vagi followed the pair of escorts,
leaving her former home vacant. During her time here she got to know the crew a
little bit. It was enough to gain their respect. There were still some would
not keep their hands to themselves. On most ships the prickly kind of sailor
who hardly made friends sneered at her. On the outside deck stood the whole
crew waiting for her to leave. All one hundred thirty-six members of the
Frigate’s crew formed up to see her off. Admiral Kezef, Captain Durnire, and
Lieutenant Evan Blackbell stood by the rope ladder that was lowered.
“It has been an honor serving the VUVR alongside you
Lieutenant Secretary. We are all proud to have served alongside you.” Admiral
Kezef said giving her a salute then a handshake. The dark-skinned hand felt
like stone yet warm to the touch. She turned to Captain Durnire after saying a
forced farewell to Kezef. She tried to hold back the sadness building up
inside. Durnire stood at five foot ten with a pinkish skin tone, red hair under
the cap, long thin face, and green eyes. His physique made him appear more like
a whaler. Durnire did the same thing as Kezef did. Then she turned to
Lieutenant Evan Black bell, six-foot-tall dark-haired elf who held a thin, lean
physique. Both elves exchanged farewell salutes and handshakes. As elven custom
would have it they stroked each other’s hair and jawline as a way to say
farewell in elvish. All elves must do this whenever they leave the presence of
another elf. She turned to disembark from the Hervorne then gave the whole crew
a salute who in turn saluted her in unison. It was overwhelming to see an
entire ship full of sailors, comrades, and countrymen salute a fellow
Vestrisian.
Travelling by a motorized boarding boat Vagi rode to her
next ship. Motorboating was not her favorite way to travel. Some males made up
this sexual act that involved the face and a woman’s chest. A few crew members
even joked about it during her first days on board. Vagi kept herself together
so she could focus on her future position. Once they reached the Destroyer
Basilisk she turned left and right. Just checking their surroundings was all
she could do during the ride. The seas started to get a little rough around
them. She felt their transport sway and rock a little. A rope ladder was
lowered for them to climb aboard. Vagi caught a glimpse of the fortress sized
Barge sitting on the ocean.
She climbed the rope ladder first, eager to get off the
rocky boat. The elf Lieutenant Secretary reached the top of the rope ladder.
Two strong hand helped her up. Her luggage followed her after she climbed
aboard the new ship. The Destroyer Basilisk was by no means brand new. For two
full years this ship saw action in this war. The ship itself lived to be five
years old holding a total of thirteen ship kills and hundreds of hits in battle
over the neutral islands. Serving its neighbors as a peacekeeper along with
eighteen other ships during the Evusian-Redrin conflict. That event occurred
ten years after Redrin Independence.
All 155 personnel stood on deck to greet their new
Lieutenant Secretary. Captain Marden Weatherby wore his uniform of blue
decorated in gold and silver medals and pins. Beside the human Geverine with
brown hair stood Lieutenant Fistvale, a half elf with dark brown hair. She read
about their successes and missions. Now she was going to serve alongside them.
“Welcome aboard Destroyer 1144 the Basilisk Lieutenant
Secretary Vagi.” Captain Weatherby greeted her.
“Thank you, Captain Weatherby sir, Lieutenant Naphene
Tramyar Vagi reporting for duty.” She replied feeling ready to take on this new
ship. Vagi received a salute from the entire crew before they were dismissed.
Every personnel returned to their stations, tasks, and
quarters. The only ones standing idle were Vagi, Captain Weatherby, and
Lieutenant Fistvale. Weatherby waited for the crew to clear the deck. When a
path to each other was clear Vagi picked up her luggage. She approached the
Captain hand his second in command. Weatherby escorted Vagi to her new
quarters. Fistvale followed them.
“Thank you Lieutenant Vagi for being here to take on this
position on such short notice.” Weatherby said to the elf as he took her to the
lower decks. On board the destroyer all quarters of her personnel lay under the
bridge command.
“Yes sir, Admiral Kezef made it clear about my new post!”
she sort of lied to her new commander. No thanks to those pirates Vagi pretty
much blacked out after she was fondled. Whatever Kezef said to her before
getting those pirates was lost. She did not want to say that to her new
Captain.
“Did you get a good look at those aquatic humanoids that
attacked us?” Weatherby asked her as her looked directly at her.
“Yes, sir I did.” Vagi replied as they came down to the
ship’s personnel quarters. Her new room was across from the ship doctor and
medical personnel. Vagi looked at the
names on the door Dr. Grivus, and Nurse Assistant Mayeen. She wondered how they
fared against those aquatic humanoids. Those aquatic monsters reemerged in her
head as she kept pondering over the assault. Using their numbers these
humanoids tried overwhelming the Vestrisians.
Kezef’s fleet arrived behind the privateer fleets. She
recalled punching one of them off her. Four female fighters from Borvados,
hired as bodyguards, were among the personnel on board. They acted as a
security role for his ship to keep the peace and maintain order. His bodyguard
was Selerlis the alien Lamia. The Hervorne was boarded by a force of 229 or
more of these aquatic warriors. It happened in the dead of night while most of
the crew were asleep.
All seven of his ships suffered the same fate. Yet the
nature of getting rid of these humanoids differed. The four female fighters
resisted the takeover while protecting their Boss and Vagi. During the fighting
she expected the humanoids to kill them all and take over the ship. What she
did not expect were these women to be violated. The very moment those creatures
laid eyes on the female quartet their arousal took control. Instead of just
straight up fighting there came fucking on the Hervorne. On board other craft
the crews managed to fight them off. On the Hervorne the aquatic warriors
copulated with a Borvadosian, Kaniima Assassin, and Evusian Guardian, and a
Mezeen Caravan Guard. As irresistible as those gals were, they never gave in to
sex that easily.
Vagi shook the memory away. She began preparing for the
next day on this ship. Fistvale helped her while Weatherby watched them. As she
set up the desk, she grew curious about the fate of Lieutenant Secretary
Stillhelm, Weatherby’s former Secretary. Reports only mentioned the Basilisk
came under attack like the rest of the fleets. Not a single mention of
Stillhelm’s fate could be found in the report from Weatherby. That would put a
small dent in his career as Captain of the Vestrisian Navy unless Kezef wanted
him to be quiet about that.
“Captain sir if I may ask what happened to the previous
Lieutenant Secretary for the Basilisk?” She asked the Captain when she should
have asked Fistvale who held the same rank as her. At first, she thought he
left, but felt the room grow cold. Captain Weatherby did not look at her or
Fistvale who inched his way out of the room showing some fear.
“Lieutenant Secretary Evan Anali Stillhelm was removed
from his post. That was the last thing I wanted to do aside from throwing his
Borgladiri-Borgadrian ass overboard. For one single year half dragging tasks he
served in place of Ms. Grizzel Varen. She was hit with some debris and shrapnel
from a Gantronese rocket launcher. That happened at the Battle of Hyfashara, a
port city of Borvados.” Weatherby answered Vagi with an irritated voice.
“Hyfashara, that was where the enemy used a fleet of
skiffer boats.” Fistvale pointed out seeming surprised.
“You are right Lieutenant, dismissed. Now Ms. Vagi do you
have any history of drug use or heavy drinking?” captain Weatherby questioned
her.
“No sir I do not.” She replied in a worried voice. Vagi
started putting pieces of the puzzle of what happened between Stillhelm and the
chain of command.
“Good, that will be all Lieutenant. I hope this ship is
to your liking. Here are your duties for the week.” Weatherby handed her an
orange ring envelope. The large envelope was full of papers. She had a lot of
work ahead of her.
“We will see you tomorrow Lieutenant Secretary. Come
along Lieutenant those privateers will be boarding that floating Fortress.”
Captain Weatherby and Lieutenant Fistvale left Vagi to her duties. The moment
she was alone she continued unpacking.
One she was done unpacking and setting up the desk she
got to work. First thing she had to do was type up the list of names on each
ship logs. Although she had been put on a different ship it was still required
to keep up with the fleet’s crew. You never know what ship needs to update its
log information. She got up to check with all the officers who gave her names
of crew members under their command.
When Vagi finished typing up the names on the typewriter
she went for another list of names Weatherby wrote down. His handwriting was
not quite easy to read. While she attempted typing the crew names of Captain
Marden Bearstrider’s Frigate 0208 aka. Turquoise Skull she heard shooting from
the fortress barge. Just hearing the constant shooting kept her from typing.
Forced to give up on her typing duties she went in search of her new Captain.
She found him on the Frigate’s command bridge watching the barge fortress.
“Welcome Lieutenant Vagi to the bridge come take a look
at the pirates boarding that Barge.” Weatherby said handing her the binoculars.
Vagi took the binoculars in her hands and looked through
the glass. Just peeking at the boarding forces the pirates sent gave her goose
bumps. She recognized Captain Omavern who had just shot some multi limbed
creature. Her gaze went to the other force led by the Captain Caniir who groped
her yesterday. No one said women did not fondle each other. She froze a little
until some aircraft landed on top of the floating fortress.
“Look over there, Captain someone else has taken the
call. However, I do not recognize the aircraft. Sir is that a new troop
transport?” she asked noticing troops dropping down from the new aircraft. Vagi
observed the scene hoping the Captain heard her. All her focus rested on this
strange new aircraft that resembled a large diving bird. Vagi handed the
binoculars back to Weatherby. Weatherby took them back to keep watch over the
area. He scanned the view before him. She assumed he probably spotted something
else she did not see.
“If you look closely you can make out the platform seas
in the background. Look for yourself Lieutenant.” Weatherby handed her the
binoculars again.
Vagi took the binoculars once more. Weatherby pointed out
where she needed to look to spot the platform seas. Using the binoculars Vagi
found the structures that jutted out of the waters like spires and towers. At
first glance the looked like branchless thick trees. At a second glance she saw
a mushroom shape. On the third the accurate shapes of the platforms could be
seen. All platforms had thick legs supporting the large structures.
“Sir, who made these platforms?” Vagi asked Captain
Weatherby.
“That is what we are going to find out. Despite some
parts of the seas remaining in the hands of other factions there are still
unanswered questions.” Weatherby answered her.
“Have you heard of the island state of Iperantos?”
Weatherby asked Vagi without even looking at her.
“Yes sir I do. That very island state on the northern
part of the platform seas. It was the nation that was forced to switch sides
early in this conflict. Iperantos gave us a base of operations south of the
unknown lands.” She spewed out all she heard from word of mouth and reports.
“Iperantos has been retaken. Only they know how many
platforms they claimed are seized by the Gantronese.” Weatherby admitted with a
hint of dissatisfaction in his voice.
“Captain Weatherby sir, while I was with Kezef a report
about a small Gantronese fleet posed unanswered.” Vagi put in hoping he heard
her.
Six of our hired privateers have been dispatched after
them. Most of the fleet under Daysoul are to be here. Daysoul and his own fleet
are at Ruhonthra. Through Admiral Kezef Admiral-Marshall Daysoul wants us to go
alone.” Weatherby informed Vagi.
“Alone? Admiral Sir, are we going into the platform seas without
back up?” Vagi asked him, hoping her new Captain was not serious.
“Admiral Marshall wants needs a good portion of his fleet
in one area. Once that Barge Fortress is cleared, most of the ships here are
supposed to escort it back home to Vestrisian waters.” He answered Vagi in a
sincere tone.
“So, we are taking that floating fortress home.” Vagi
said in a surprised and confused voice. She heard something about their intentions,
yet she believed it would be given to the pirates.
“Furd (Military Leader) Greymir would like to see this
for himself. Mysdran Cryptshade has ordered for that barge to be brough back to
Vestrisian waters. Do not worry it Lieutenant go back to your current tasks.
You are dismissed.” Weatherby explained to her before letting the elf leave his
command bridge.
Vagi did as the Captain ordered and returned to her
duties. She got back to the lists of crewmembers on each ship in Kezef’s fleet.
Next to the crewmember’s name she typed in their rank. Beside the rank she put
in the naval colors representing each rank. A white spot for cadets and
recruits. Gray represented seamen, Red Stripes stood for crewmen, Red was for
officers, Dark blue for Lieutenants, Blue for Captains, Black for Admirals, and
Gold for Mysdran. Each color came in the form of a patch on their uniforms
showing the place they stood in the Vestrisian Navy. When she was done Vagi
went to the mess hall to eat before going to bed.
She hand cuffed the wrong person in a dream as she slept.
It brought her past back into her memories. Naphene Blue Rose Vagi used to
serve as a “guard of the streets” in the elf city of Zethra. Zethra was an
island city off the coasts of Zedarkhaan. On that island city she acted as a
“police force” alongside hundreds of others. Years before the rise of the
Vestrisian Union she kept the peace, enforced the laws and went after various
bandits, crooks, thugs, and some street villains. That was along the western
wharfs, waterfronts, and the coast. An accused and suspicious clown, 109
members of a waterfront town militia went after him.
For his own protection she had to arrest him. To her
greatest dismay he turned out to be the wrong one to arrest. This clown was not
the real monster the town believed to be. Vagi woke up shaking the memories
away. She did not want to remember the rest of the story of the clown’s fate.
Like the rest of the crew she prepared for the day and ate at the mess hall of
the ship. She got the pleasure of dining with Captain Weatherby and his other
Lieutenant. At breakfast Weatherby handed her some notes he jotted down after
speaking with Kezef, Captain Caniir, and a few other allied commanders.
She took the lists and returned to her own quarters.
Naphene placed the notes next to the typewriter. On a clipboard stand she put
the piece of notes. She felt the whole ship rumble. The Basilisk began to move.
She knew where they were headed. There was no going back until the mission was
over. To her mindset would be nice to have back up. Vagi made every attempt to
block out the idea of going alone. It pleased her thinking another fleet was
coming in behind them. Hoping these lists of reports would distract her during
the trip she proceeded to type. As her fingers pressed the keys, she discovered
new information.
Eleven warriors from other ships and that barge joined
their ranks. Several of them were Drow mercenaries, one was a winged humanoid
from Syrianos. She had been raised off world by outer world humanoids. Each one
held a title such as volunteers with valued intel. She also added the
scientists and members of some Amethorian group. On that barge her pirate
acquaintances discovered the fate of her countrymen, and allies. They also made
off with plenty of loot after plundering it. Among this loot the pirates took
from this Barge included 3 cannon guns, 2 boats, 4 canoes, and an abandoned
sloop. These watercrafts remained in good condition to use. This Barge held strange
cargo in its bowels including 32 beasts n creatures the pirates discovered
alive below deck. Plenty of weird and scary experiments were killed along with
some tentacle being with one eye. According to their ally’s statistics 1, 955
corpses and more were found aside from the ones nailed to the walls. Sixteen of
these newcomers, the Amethorians, were found dead. Just a few of them survived
leaving more questions than answers. Among all the loot the pirates collected,
1,103 guns, and 128 melee weapons were seized as well. He superiors allowed
them to keep those weapons along with 146, 467 rounds of ammunition.
Admirals Brykas, Blatt, and Kezef under Admiral Marshall
Daysouls command received more reinforcements. From Borvados 40 thieves are
added to steel sloops under Blatt’s command. 76 scared soldiers from various
factions are sent to the privateers. Their allies, and neighbors lost men and
women on that Barge Fortress the enemy call “Cetus-Leviathan 443”. She felt bad
for those Lybresans, Ivodrans, Ruhonthrans, and the Alagen. Now they had new
recruits and conscripts to refill those ranks. Some 87 drunk soldiers, airmen,
and guards were being pressed to serve. These 163 new recruits came from
Malvieth, Rovantia, Tante Republic, and Lybresan Islands. Right behind them 5
Evusians signed up to become privateers. Although these were considered
infantry, sentry, and pilots their countries strained to train the whole
military to take up every task of any branch in a military.
Reasons for these 168 soldiers, airmen, guards, and
sailors being sent here had to do with punishments. It was punishment for being
drunk on duty, too scared to hold positions. Apparently, some allies tried to
seize some platforms in the north. It was not clear who it was exactly that
scared them away. Yet it was surmised those forces were likely associated with
Gantronese forces. Vagi kept on typing up these reports in case the flag ship
sank, or any other ship were destroyed. For that reason, every Lieutenant
Secretary were required to have these logs typed up and kept on board.
Northwest
of Ruhonthran islands air recon found a fleet of 16 ships, escorting a convoy
of 19 merchant ships. It would be left to U-boats to deal with that convoy.
Once Vagi was finished she looked inside the envelope again. At the bottom she
found some letters addressed to her. One came from Admiral Kezef himself. The
other came from her lover, which she kissed. A third and last one came from an
old colleague, a dear friend of hers. This pen pal was Anita “Darling” Enno
from the Zethra Police Academy days. She worked alongside Vagi, clearing the
streets of crime, and became a sister figure to her. Memories of good and bad
times returned to her thoughts.
Knowing
her duty on board this ship was important she put the personal letters on the
bed. Naphene turned her attention to the Admiral’s dispatch for her. The
Lieutenant Secretary opened the dispatch to find orders from Kezef himself.
Observing the orders, she noticed they were for her and Captain Weatherby. In
the orders he mentioned a device called a “Nurzak”. According to the dispatch
the Nurzak was a multi-functional cartography computer Seleris told him about.
According
to the Lamia there were structures just like the platforms here on Calorn. On
another world or two were platforms in bodies of water. Whatever Seleris knew
about these platforms she got from a superior. Her own background and history
had something to do with an Inner Galactic Coalition. This coalition got her
involved in some alliance of different worlds. Letting her on board the ship
just showed how accepting they were to outsiders. Kezef found that off world
Lamia in Meze. Tensions were rising along the Mezeen, Evusian borders. Admiral
Kezef and some staff found themselves locked in a standoff that erected in a
port city. Some snot nosed Evusian Noble led a force of 19,323 soldiers and
noble sons. Known as Ivag the Eagle Eye, this noble held the title of Count.
This Evusian Count pursued pirates in the border port city of Greenwood Cove,
also known as El-Khatagh. Kezef and sixty-five other Vestrisian Admirals,
commanders, and politicians, and aristocratic businessmen held a meeting at an
inn on the port. Here they had 112 marines, and sentries guarding the place.
Next door to the inn stood the Alagen Embassy who also had their own guard
protecting the embassy. Admirals, Captains, and Lieutenants were aware of the
rising tensions.
Evusia’s
pursuit of pirates was a new campaign as it was the Count’s last-minute
decision. With his nineteen thousand troops, Count Ivag Winonsoul practically
invaded Greenwood Cove. Under the impression that his Empire’s neighbor granted
him permission to hunt pirates Ivag marched in. According to the tales there
were at least fifty-six pirates hiding out. Truth be told more than seven
hundred thirty pirates hid all over the region. For some reason Ivag decided to
besiege the Vestrisians and the Alagens, who have been recruiting pirates into
their navies. Hearing this was going on caused the Evusians to corner them
during their invasion of Greenwood Cove. This action did not bode well with the
Mezeen. A full day after this blind, narrowminded Noble invaded, the Mezeen
responded in force. A force of about 58,694 militiamen, warriors, and angry
citizens forming a mob, marched against the Evusian invaders.
Confrontations
began with a mob who demanded for the Evusians to leave their city. When the
invaders refused to budge, Winonsoul found himself in a sticky situation on
Mezeen soil. Ten thousand of his own men engaged this gathered mob of angry
citizens. Thousands of Mezeen died and close to a hundred twelve Evusians died.
Mezeen then marshalled its militia under a local Sheikh. This went on for nine
full days, resulting in more deaths and discovery of pirates. Each day that
passed, casualties mounted, and more pirates were found. By this time 58, 694
Mezeen forces, and the 4,033-member mob, engaged the Evusians in battle. Out of
the 730 pirates said to be there just 350 avoided the Evusian’s pursuit. Three
hundred sixteen pirates died by hanging, beheading, shot, or drank themselves
to death. Sixty-four pirates were captured by the Count’s forces.
Winonsoul
lost 279 men to the pirates,495 men killed by the mob after firing on them. The
rest of the pirates took refuge in some buildings close to the Alagen embassy.
Both Mezeen and Evusians engaged each other after the ten days Winonsoul
occupied it for his pirate hunt. A bloody battle ensued in the streets that
transformed into a stalemate. Mezeen lost 16,754 while Winonsoul lost 4,206 and
more by the twelfth day. During those days the Vestrisians and Alagens fired
from their buildings. No losses resulted for them and 384 losses resulted for
the Evusian Count. When he came after the remaining pirates, he lost 678 men in
their stretched-out hunt.
On
the fourteenth day another faction emerged out their hiding places. Greenwood
Cove’s population of estimated 300,000 or so panicked as 26,408 monsters came
out. Whoever this faction of monsters was it was obvious it did not come from
Calorn. Their intentions were to eat, kill, and terrify this city’s populace.
Chaos spread unchecked across Greenwood Cove as 72,397 people fled their homes,
34, 228 people died by the hands of the mutant monsters. Among the chaos these
mutant monsters ate 14,683 Mezeen while keeping the rest in doors.
Mezeen
mobilized more troops to send Winonsoul packing. All hope for the Count died
when fresh Mezeen troops arrived at the outskirts. Due to the emergence of the
monsters they hesitated before entering the city. Their Sheikhs allowed
frightened people to rush past them. They stopped at the edges of Greenwood
Cove too scared and confused by the new faction’s reveal. From the air came an
Intervention Force of 4,548 non-Calornese humanoids. Many Mezeen saw them as
sky people, people from the clouds, or angels from the heavens. Lamia (snake
people) and Oni (Ogre-trolls) armed with outer world weaponry formed the
Intervention. Each donned some type of body armor that covered head to toe. For
the case of the Lamia the armor covered all over the body and the tail.
Although
outnumbered these Intervention Forces came in like a storm on the monsters. In
the outskirts they spotted 1,199 of these mutant invaders. According to Mezeen
accounts each one of these terrorizing monsters was handcuffed. As these new
arrivals poured in they shot up 11, 675 of these marauders, and flesh eating
monsters. This caused 7,073 to flee and get out of Greenwood Cove. Winonsoul
and the Mezeen Sheikhs of the area decided to call on a ceasefire to deal with
both invaders.
Seleris
told her the rest of the story one night. Her people lost about half their
strength. They had to tie the mutants who were captured to various objects.
Evusisans believed them to be pirates because of something they wore. Forced to
give up on convincing these people, they fought anyways. Her Oni commanding
officer, a Briggadier-Colonel pressed them to fight all three factions. Amid
the battle their prisoners either escaped or died. Only 82 managed to escape
whereas 627 had to be shot or stabbed, and 46 poisoned themselves. The rest
were evacuated outside the city. Most of their brigade perished at the hands of
100, 000 Mezeen reinforcements who mistook them for the monsters. Reduced to
368 troops, her unit went further in the city. In the process they ended up
fighting the Mezeen and killed 1,773 thugs, bandits, and brigands of the
outskirts. They lost 125 men while moving around. Another alien faction emerged
from underground. Whoever they were, they blended in well. By the time her own
unit made it to the ports every other mutant drowned at the city ports.
Combined forces of Mezeen and Evusia pushed them into the ocean.
Kezef
discovered her outside the Alagen Embassy. Seleris was wounded, her arm had a
gash, her own tail shot ten times. Her own intervention Unit was reduced to 65
Oni and Lamia. Moments before he called for help several Mezeen accused him of
aiding the monsters. These Mezeen peasants, commoners and workers mistook her
for one of the mutant monsters that emerged out of hiding. They also accused
Kezef of being a collaborator to the mutants. She killed his attackers and
accusers. Doing that earned her a place as a bodyguard. At dawn the Vestrisian
and Alagen fleets arrived to a very tense situation that escalated into
fighting between Evusia and Mezeen. One more shot and it would escalate into an
all-out war. More than 100, 000 Mezeen already marshalled. A force of 10,000
Evusian troops marched to arrest Ivag. Seleris did not know what else happened
after she was brought to the medical station on Kezef’s transport ship.
She completed her assigned tasks from Kezef except for
the retrieval of the device. Vagi looked outside the circular window hatch. Through
the window the famous alien platform seas could be seen. Small islands and rock
formations dotted the seas. In the path of the Basilisk stood a wall of
shipwrecks, and rock pillars. Sailors, whalers, explorers, pirates, and sea
divers call it the “Arm of the Ruined Souls”. If someone, some crew, or fleet
of ships sought passage to the platform seas they would have to go around or
find a gap somewhere. Other routes to the seas did not lead to the “Arm” The
wall itself stretched 367 or more miles with gaps in it. Most ships went
straight for Ruhonthra or the Iperantosi State. Fortunately for the Vestrisian
Destroyer the Basilisk it headed straight for a nice gap in this wall. She
estimated it was 1,500 feet wide. A three-ship wide gap was a blessing
eyesight for sailors and captains at sea.
