This Union of different nations was just beginning, and she knew it. All seventeen members of this newly formed V.U.V.R. raised the same flag above their former national flags. Despite their differences, various cultures, races, societies, religions, and governments each member joined this Union of Republics. Starting with New Vattoram, Naatidra, Ezonel, and Zedarkhaad their ideology against enslaved peoples spread. It brought down Geverine's way of life. Engulfed Castaria in a revolution. This VUVR even pulled Gaskouth Ladai, Lheobethe together despite their past conflicts. Zegrav was also annexed along with Badraan, Kaniima, Nevkamuu, and Morgadra. The stubborn Borvadosi allowed themselves to become part of this Union fearing the Gantronese threat in the Unknown Lands along with other threats to their borders. Bisdolan was also dragged in, worried the Nazdar would grab hold. The last member to join was the Boathrian state that was supposed to be part the Boathrin Kingdom.
To newly promoted Captain Fatima Gahiib Al-Jabri this was a new era for her beloved Gaskouth Ladai. She looked up at the VUVR flag believing this unification would make their nations stronger. Together this newly formed union would become a world power. Although her family of the Jabri clan resented the Baedur Corsairs over past conflicts. They still had to make peace in the Vestrisian Union of the Vestrisian Republics. United under one flag all citizens would be free of enslavement, oppression, restrictions, betrayal by landlords, and the influences that could undermine their natural rights. On the brownish grass mixed with sand, rocks, and cracking soil she looked out at Zekmar. Just on the border their forces prepared to invade the Gantronese territory alongside thousands of Zema Ilam allies who seek liberation of their homeland. Her father warned her not to trust the green grass treading Zema Ilam who once ruled over vast swaths of territory like an empire. She only scoffed at her father's ideals to herself looking a future that brought unity, stability, peace, security by force if need be, and now restoration of homelands.
On the border of VUVR Gaskouth Ladai, and Gantronese Zekmar Vestrisian forces in this area had close to 1,157 or more. Made up of Gaskouth Ladai tribesmen, warriors, Baedur Corsairs, volunteers, soldiers, and Zema Ilam the invasion force prepared the assault. In this area called Zabhba the battalion stared at a Gantronese battalion of what must be 1,127 or so Gantronese soldiers. These invaders came down from the stars with weapons and technology the Calornese managed to copy with outside help. Taking in a deep breath Captain Al-Jabri sought to make her clan and house proud. At her hip hung the tribal sword of Al-Jabri the Cobra, the founder of her house and clan. The wind blew in their faces as they awaited the signal to attack. She looked up at their flag once more. On a field of blue the gold anvil sat with a crossed sword, and wrench. From the top of the anvil was a pitch fork, and from the bottom stuck out the pick-ax. It flapped in the wind sending a good omen their aircraft were not far behind.
As the wind blew around them sounds of a thousand engines could be heard in the air. All their heads looked up to see squadrons of aircraft fly towards Zekmar to unleash their bombs on the enemy. Before their land assault the enemy positions had to be bombed to soften the resistance. Her eyes watched in wonder, the very scene of their bombers dropping justice upon these alien invaders. When the last bombs fell on their targets whistles blew all over the field. That was the signal for their assault to begin. unsheathing the cobra sword Fatima grabbed the flag pole and charged with her fellow countrymen.
Happy Flag Day.
