Private Miles Giffordson had a few things packed in a
sack over his should, a T.M. 13 rifle on his back and a harness made
from animal hide with ammo and an ax. He looked ready to go on a long
adventure. The look of adventure left his face when Oakley reminded
him they would only be gathering up the Vestrisians camped outside in
the outskirts. Miles closed the door behind him then he checked to
see if his neighbors were watching him. When he realized the coast
was clear he signaled he was ready to travel.
Both groups split up at Miles' door step. Maurice and
his companions went towards the north east while Steele-Oakley led
the four Vestrisians straight for the west. Taking the route to the
north east they came to the rim and from there proceeded to the
stables. At the stables they found three jumbo cats left fro them.
All of their belongings were set in a corner next to the cats. Maphai
must have had their things there since the innkeeper wanted them out
sooner than a few days. Maurice, Maphia, Ocareth, Amonif gathered
everything they owned. Oraceth and Amonif prepared the steeds for the
journey back. It was a short one ahead but a journey they still had
to take.
Maurice followed Maphai to the tavern-inn where she
paid the innkeeper. He did not know how much it cost, but it did not
matter as they headed out. They met Ocareth, and Amonif in the middle
of street. Each one had the steeds with them ready to return to their
yacht. Just before the group were about set off three of the
explorers they saw other other day approached them. They each held a
bag of what looked like money in both hands. All three of them handed
the money over as if giving them rewards. One of the leading
explorers leaned over and thanked them in a whisper. This money was
for killing the goons inside the city. With them gone the explorer's
could actually do some scholarly research and more on the roads. The
third one handed them a large bag of food for their road trip.
Out of nowhere the woman in the explorer's outfit
kissed each of them. She pressed herself against them not caring how
it looked in public. As promiscuous as this woman was she seemed more
knowledgeable about the southern regions. She told them there were
some tribes along a river that went around Tsubibe Pajibe territory.
Many of these tribes can be violent towards outsiders depending on
the appearances and the tribe itself. She also warned they were
numerous predatory and dangerous creatures. When the explorers let
them go on their way Maurice mounted up with Maphai mounting on the
back behind him.
He turned to see Oraceth and Amonif mount their steeds.
In moments Maurice led the small group towards the entrance to the
north. At a slow pace they took the road back to the outpost and the
docks. The militia and guards glared at them with suspicions, but
only grumbled to themselves. Others whispered to each other while the
rest either focused their glares on them. Passing through the main
gates of the city they came to the large clearing where they
witnessed the skirmish. The corpses were cleared from the ground as
if nothing had happened. Most of the militia they saw were patrolling
the edges. Each one of them had an eye out for the tribesmen and
other dangers.
Seeing had nothing to worry about Maurice's group
pressed forward. His steed nearly brought them to a full galloping
speed forcing them to catch up with him. When the came to the end of
the clearing their path was blocked. Seven gunslingers stood in their
path as though they magically appeared out of thin air, but these
seven gunslingers came out of the forest flanking the road. Maurice
and his companions came to a halt steering their steeds to the right
and left to avoid crashing into this blockade. These path blocking
gunslingers were all female, one was an orc with green skin, two of
them were Drow females, and the rest were humans.
This orc female gunslinger had the typical orc's
appearance only she did not have the usual nose or tusks. She wore a
leather hide outfit suitable for any climate and contained many large
pockets store items. This orc's outfit had a hood, which she had over
her head. She was armed with a double barrel hunting rifle and a belt
harness full of shells. On her flanks were the two Drows wearing gray
wool shirts under vests and thin loose shawl wraps. Their trousers
were decorated in dark elvish symbols. Both of them were armed with
Grussian revolvers and different rifles. The other human girls wore
different style of clothing. One wore a scarf headdress and
traditional long sleeve peasant like dress with a shawl cape draped
over her to hide her weapons and carried lute. She stood at the end
with a dark skinned human in a gunslinger style shirt, vest, and
trousers dyed blue with a long coat that resembled an old pirate's
coat. For weapons this wild haired had two large pistols, a carbine,
Kukri sword-machete. Her hair was wild compared to the next to her.
Beside this wild hair stood a short haired Eothian in armored plating
cuirass, long overcoat, modern pants, and rough boots armed with a
single pistol. At the end was a more voluptuous, buxom looking
specimen, tall in frame with curves. She appeared a little vampire
with pointed ears, smooth skin, and long dark hair. This one had on
leathery armor mixed with traveling clothes, and armed with a
revolver, and scimitar.
All seven looked intimidating, outlandish, fierce,
tough, and resilient in their own ways. Each one had a confident look
about herself until they saw the large steeds the commando and his
party rode. Four against seven did not mean bigger numbers meant
victory. In this case the commando had his people and steeds making
it even. The orc motioned to them with a sign that said die. At this
point in their journey Maurice stopped giving a sverx about whether
their opponents were male and female.
For several moments the seven ladies were preparing to
kill Maurice Viyamor and his trio of companions. Maurice and his
companions simply watched them letting the seven of them get ready.
What these seven gunslingers for hire did not know or ignored was the
hostility of the jungle itself. On their own flanks and behind lurked
some savage-demonic green skinned creatures.
He wanted to let them know what was behind them so
badly. If he did then they might draw the attention of those savages.
He couldn't tell how many there were just what they seemed intent on
doing. Maphai whispered those savages would have attacked by now, but
had no plans to do so. These savages were most likely out to abduct
those females. Just as his attention went straight back to the girls
those savages in the jungle pounced. A group of twenty six green
warriors who must have covered their skin with green substance
emerged out of the jungles. Armed with clubs, bolas, and nets the
large group of green warriors swarmed the seven female gunslingers.
Just the expressions on their faces said it all. None of them were
expecting these green covered warriors to even be there. Taking
advantage of the element of surprise these warriors grappled them,
pulled them to the ground, disarmed them, and bound them in ropes.
Both of the dark elves were carried away immediately, the orc was
beaten to the ground with clubs, and the rest tried resisting however
their strength failed them. The savages tried making off with the
rest, but were forced to kill the orc and cut the throat of the
Eothian as she stabbed one of the captors.
Before anything else occurred shooting could be heard
from the jungle followed by war cries that sounded very Uxane. The
fighting ended moments later and a group of six figures came out of
the jungle with two of the gunslinger girls. Five were Uxane
renegades armed with modern rifles, tomahawks, war clubs, daggers
from foreigners, and spears. Each one wore different clothing from
traditional ware, to hide clothes, ponchos over shirts and trousers
along with plaid shirts over hide skin trousers. Their sixth
companion was a Lesdonian in a wide brimmed explorer's hat, leather
tan hide adventurer's clothes and hand crafted boots made to endure
travel. On his back he had a sniper rifle, and a traveling pack. With
the new group were two of the female gunslingers one drow and that
voluptuous tall one. Both girls looked completely, disheveled, dirty,
clothes torn up, and bruised. Maurice and Maphai decided to press on
to their vessel leaving the gunslingers at the hands of the saviors
and the rest their captors.
